The current federal budget year is set to expire on September 30th. Congress must act before then to set appropriations levels and keep the federal government funded for fiscal year 2020-2021 that starts on October 1st.
For 50 years, the Title X federal family planning program has supported the delivery of essential services like birth control, STD prevention and treatment, and cancer screenings to millions of low-income and uninsured patients across the country.
The Trump Administration’s changes to the Title X program that took effect last fall have devastated the nation’s family planning safety net. The number of patients served in California has been reduced by 40% since the regulations were implemented, disproportionately impacting underserved and rural areas, and communities of color.
Take action to keep Title X strong for patients that rely on the program for care nationwide.
Urge Congress to pass a federal budget that continues funding for Title X and includes language that protects the program’s mandate to provide comprehensive family planning services for all.
